The 12-Point Clinic Website Conversion Checklist

Most clinic websites are designed to look professional, not to convert. Here are the 12 things your homepage should do in the first 5 seconds.

What patients need to see immediately

A new patient lands on your homepage and decides whether to call in roughly 5 seconds. Twelve things matter in that window: clinic name, what you do, where you are, phone number visible, "book online" button, hours of operation, insurance carriers accepted, direct billing mention, recent reviews visible or summarized, photos of the actual clinic, parking or transit information, and accepting-new-patients status.

If any of these are missing or buried, patients call the next clinic on Google.

The hero section

Your hero should answer: who are you, what do you do, where are you, do you take my insurance, and how do I book. Five questions, in less words than a tweet. Most clinics waste this space on stock photos and tagline copy.

Replace stock photography with a single high-quality photo of your real space. Replace "Compassionate care since 2008" with "Direct billing dentist in North York. Same-week appointments."

The booking button

Your "book online" button should be visible without scrolling, on every page, in a colour that stands out from your design system. The button text should read "Book Now" or "Book Online" — not "Schedule Appointment" or "Request Consultation," which feel slower.
